#SearchForChange

To mark International Women’s Day in 2022, Google India and Lowe Lintas launched #SearchForChange, an emotionally driven campaign showcasing how Google’s voice search empowers women to challenge societal norms. By highlighting real-life scenarios like pay inequality, workplace harassment, or being judged for returning home late. The film illustrates how voice search can spark transformation when women ask the tough questions.

The creative idea is centred around a reimagined version of Amit Trivedi’s song “Manjha,” which serves as a poetic anthem underscoring voice as a catalyst for change. Directed by Afshan Hussain and written by Vasudha Misra and Mohit Pasricha, the narrative weaves multiple stories of women using Google Voice Search in Hindi as a tool to seek information, assert agency, and make informed choices. The campaign doesn’t dwell on problems, it celebrates how information equips individuals to alter their circumstances. Additional short films featuring actor Gajraj Rao extend the narrative, portraying stories of women role models in fields like cricket and filmmaking, reinforcing the campaign’s message of knowledge-led empowerment.
